PEI, Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island, known better as "PEI" is the smallest Canadian province. PEI is best known as the setting of "Anne of Green Gables". PEI is home to fishing and lobster industries as well as a thriving tourism industry. Charlottetown is the capitol city and has over 2/3s of the island's population.

Climate for PEI dips towards the cold and damp, even in summer. Summer highs may hit 30C with winter cold getting down to bone-chilling -20C. The small villages throughout PEI are styled in Victorian and "Salt Box" fashions. Bicycling routes around the island are popualr with tourists seeking exploration of the province.
