Saskatoon is one of Canada's most underrated cities. Divided by the mighty South Saskatchewan River and surrounded by acres upon acres of tranquil plains, it is the largest city in Saskatchewan and a major stop on any trans-Canada trip. Desite being overwhelmingly culturally homogeneous, Saskatoon is a perfect showcase of rural Canadian life, with brisk winters and wet summers.
The town goes crazy over its sports teams, especially the Saskatoon Blades hockey team and University of Saskatchewan Huskies footballers. It is also among central Canada's more significant cultural hubs, and is known locally for supplying leaping-off points for famous Canadian acts such as Joni Mitchell, The Sheepdogs and The Northern Pikes, not to mention the city's vibrant active theatre scene, benchmarked by the Saskatoon Fringe Theatre Festival and Great Plains Comedy Festival.
